Saline Twirlettes capture their 6th NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE NATIONAL BATON TWIRLING ASSOCIATION’S
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!
The “Mountain” Team comprised of 9 young ladies won the 2005 Junior Beginner Dance Twirl Championship last Thursday!
They competed against teams from across the nation and won by a 10 point spread which is very good! The team is led by
SHS graduate; Jessica Potter, Saline Sophmores Cindy Bruckner and Mary Ciotta, Saline Freshman Stacey Girbach and Tara
Dauer, Saline 8th graders: Conner Potter, Abby Dotz, Saline 7th grader Haley Williams and Washtenaw Christian sophomore
Kelsey Lamkin. Since 2002 the Twirlettes have brought home a national championship title!~
The Twirlettes Junior Halftime Show team “ Jackson” placed 2nd out of 25 teams from across the nation! The
team had an outstanding performance and was awarded highly for their presentation and chorography. This team is comprised
of 23 members, the whole TWIRLETTES national team.
The OZ team competed in the Juvenile Large Dance Twirl team and won a 3rd place amongst 16 teams! This was a big
improvement from last year and caught the eye of judges for their interpretation and showmanship!
The Twirlettes had many individual national titles and top 10 placements! There are too many to list at this time!
Please look for future articles and press releases.
Thank you for your support of the Twirlettes and contribution on wide variety of scales. The National team
practiced many hours to prepare for this competition. I feel they represented their state and community very well. I
appreciate your continued support as we start our fall semester in Sept of 2005 and we then begin our quest for a 7th
national title! Thank You! Susan Usher-Coach
